Holiday yang tak dirancang :) ..tetiba hubs aunt call up cakap firefly ada promo..terus decide nak pegi..we got the tickets at RM120 per pax..murah kan...
My hubby pernah pegi Batam sebelum ni, tapi naik ferry from JB, so tau la sikit2 tempat ni.
Trip was a 3d2n..kira rest n relax la..there's 7 of us..semua geng2 pencen..heheeh sedara-mara hubby.
The flight was a short one, iyela Batam kan dekat je..45 min dah sampai..
Hang Nadim Airport - Indonesia pun ada Hang jugak, ingat kita je ada Hang Tuah sumer tu.. :) |
Kat airport ada orang pickup, my hubby punya auntie sorang ni ada sedara kat sini.. so diorang la yang bawak us jalan2..yeahhh
First destination terus ke hotel, we stayed at Hotel Formosa..booking thru Booking.com. (dlm RM150 per night)
As we arrived around 12pm, it was still early to check in (2pm)..so register je dulu, tinggal beg kat sini and stroll around the area..
The reason we choose this hotel sebab location kat Nagoya Hill.
Batam mainly ada 2 area yang maju sikit la..(ada mall je pun) one is in Nagoya Hill and the other is in Batam Center (near the ferry terminal).
Batam ni membangun pun because of Singaporeans yg banyak datang sini..distance dlm 20km je..tapi kena naik ferry la.. :) . So on weekends hotels are full so tak bole nak main redah jerr..kena buat booking jugak..
Right next to the hotel is Lucky Plaza..this is an IT mall..like our Low Yat Plaza. So masuk dalam ni takde la lama sangat pun, saja pusing2 je..on the ground floor its all handphone and gadgets..
Usha2 jugak harga Galaxy S4..heheh.lebih kurang jugak harga dia..dangg...ingat murah..:)
Formosa Hotel |
Across the road from the hotel is Nagoya Hill Mall (dlm 300m). Kat sini la yang kitorang selalu pegi for our dinner..
Nagoya Hill Mall |
In between building ada Masjid.. |
Anchor tenant kat sini is Matahari..hmmm ala2 the Store je..:) |
Masuk2 je terus cari local snacks..hehe..nak buat alas perut..jam dah kul 12pm..lapar sudah..tapi nak makan heavy tak bole pasal kul 2 nanti ada lunch kat rumah sedara hubby tu..
End up beli roti je dulu..
This is on the second floor..semua restaurant je..open concept..mcm kat the Curve :)..so sini cleanliness terjamin la sikit..
After dah puas pusing2 Nagoya Hill Mall, we make a move to sedara hubby punya rumah..journey around 30mins..
Wahh..rumah air tu..macam scene kat Lahad Datu pulak..
Their house is on the opposite side..so xdela rumah atas air..
Our host - makcik yang pakai baju kuning (sebelah kiri sekali) |
My MIL |
After lunch, terus head back to the hotel..
Our room..heheh. furniture ala2 80's gitu..though it looks dated but room is very clean and spacious..so no complaints..Time for a nap..
Multiple phone charge..cool eh?? |
For dinner, we headed again to Nagoya Hill Mall..area hotel tu ada jugak restaurant and gerai, tapi tak berani nak cuba takut sakit perut lak nanti..
Seafood restaurant |
First day dinner, Warung Cobain. kat dalam Nagoya Hill Mall..reason we tried here sebab ramai orang makan kat kedai ni..hahaha..biasa la..kedai ramai orang sedap la kot..
Teh Botol - minuman wajib in Indonesia.. |
Alpukat (avocado) |
Ayam Bakar |
Bebek Goreng |
Conclusion, tak sedap langsung kedai ni..maybe its not to our taste, but the sambal itself pun dah tak sedap-tak pedas and kurang rasa..hmm quite frustrated..
On the second day, we make a trip to Jambatan Barelang , I think this is the only attraction in Batam. Basically its a few bridges (6 in total) that link up few islands in Batam. The initial plan was to link up all the islands sampai ke Riau..wow grand plan..tapi budget takde..(this was in Soekarno's era).
Snack stalls on the way to the bridge |
Since we're in Indonesia, so selamba je la berenti tengah jambatan .. |
Bridge 1 - Jambatan Fisabilillah..yang yang paling grand pun..yang lain mcm jejantas rupa dia.. |
Awesome view |
At the end of all the bridges, we stop by kat Pantai Melayu for some R&R..
Chillin by the beach |
Time to make a move for our lunch, so we head back to town...kena la patah balik..journey dalam 1 jam jugak..
As usual, makanan wajib try kat Indonesia is Nasi Padang..in particular Restoran Bundo Kanduang at Batam Center. Puas jugak la makan kat sini, typical nasi padang food..:)
Street stalls in Batam |
After lunch, we head up to Mega Mall Batam. Located right next to the ferry terminal, this is one of the major malls here.. ronda2 kat dalam mall..takde apa sangat pun..so end up lepak2 for coffee at Godiva Coffee House.
Masjid Besar Batam |
Our last night in Batam, we had dinner at Nagoya Hill Mall again.. this time I tried Ayam Penyet, and hubby tried Bakso..
Bakso tu to my taste sedap..but quite plain.. Ayam penyet pulak, sambal dia tak sepedas in Malaysia..why oh why..this is where it originates...frusttt....
Before balik hotel, singgah jap for some ole-ole. Kedai ni jual Bingka Bakar, exactly macam kita punya kuih bakar. Cuma ada macam2 perisa kat sini.
Ok, here we are on our last day in Batam. Sebelum check out, breakfast dulu..Hmmm for a hundred something punya hotel, the breakfast spread here is quite good. Banyak jugak choices..not bad..
Time to check out..posing2 dulu around the hotel
Our local host is the second from left and right.. |
At departure hall |
All in all, Batam was a very pleasant visit..memang takde expectation banyak pun..so tak la disappointed sangat..rest and relax kinda holiday..jauh perjalanan luas pemandangan..
Till my next destination..adios...
